BSB | Oregon Loses to Arizona 11-4 On Senior Day

The Oregon Ducks were hammered by the visiting Arizona Wildcats in the final game of the 2018 season. The Ducks honored multiple seniors before the contest but were unable to keep up with the Wildcats’ potent bats. Arizona compiled 13 hits and also capitalized on 11 walks from an Oregon pitching staff that saw five different arms join the action. Junior RHP Matt Mercer lasted only 4.1 innings, surrendering 4 runs, in what many believe could be his last collegiate start before turning professional. For the Wildcats, Cameron Cannon led the way with two doubles, two walks, and a perfect three for three day at the plate. After sweeping Utah a few weekends ago, the Ducks finished their season losing five out of their last six games. The Ducks finished the year with a record of 26-29, their worst since the program was brought back in 2009.
