Story: MBB Grinds Out a Win Over EWU Behind Stout Defense

Story: Ryan Milano

Oregon Men’s Basketball was able to scratch across a 69-52 win against the Eastern Washington Eagles, but it wasn’t due to an offensive onslaught. Dana Altman brought his prototypical zone defense to neutralize EWU’s offense that gave Washington State and Arizona a run for their money last week.

Eastern Washington struggled to get anything going offensively, shooting 33.3% from the field and 19.2% from deep while turning the ball over 11 times. Despite the offensive struggles for EWU, the Eagles stayed close for most of the game forcing the Ducks into 14 turnovers and shooting a poor percentage in the first half and majority of the 2nd half.

Oregon is now preparing to face off against an 0-2 Florida A&M on Wednesday at Matthew Knight Arena.
